Fire Breakout in California

Los Angeles, CA; Thursday,
May 17th: California officials have recently said
that there were no injuries or houses immediately damaged from the rogue fire that broke out in Southern California. The fire, which began
Thursday, did, however, manage to blacken a lank-mark park in Los Angeles. A new blaze also broke out on Catalina
Island, one of California’s tourist-popular sites, and charred more than 100 acres before crews could race across

Southeast AK Regional Track Meet

Juneau, AK; Wednesday,
May 16th: This past weekend was quite a competitive one, as the high school athletes of Sitka and surrounding Southeast
residents competed at the Regional track meet in the state’s capital, Juneau. Local Sitka High athletes had been training for nearly four months prior to the meet, and had been competing
in a series of meets throughout Southeast, all leading up to Regions. During the first day of meets, Sitka High athlete Shannon
Agne, a junior, competed in the 400 hurdle race, and as she rounded her last corner, caught her foot on the tip of the hurdle...(for
